PRANAYAMA

Pranayama is a series of active breathing techniques that relax or energise the body as needed to prepare for a deeper meditation practise. By focusing on our breath in this way, our mind and body immediately begins to respond – we feel calmer, more balanced and revitalised.

 

MINDFULNESS

Mindfulness is a technique that focuses our attention on the present moment. By resting our mind in the present, it gives our mind a much needed break from all the distractions, inputs, decisions, analytics and plans that are constantly keeping it busy. Focusing on the moment clears our mind of stressful and worrying thoughts. In this space we become aware of our inner experience and reality, helping to prepare for the self-inquiry techniques of Advaita Vedanta.

An ancient philosophy that teaches methods of self inquiry to gain greater self awareness and liberation from pain caused by troubling thoughts, feelings and restricting beliefs. Through the inner investigation of being simply aware, and by detaching from and not controlling our thoughts / feelings / senses / beliefs we begin to gain greater understanding of our own experience and perceptions.
